PB&J's BBQ: Reviews & Ratings
I stopped here on a whim after seeing it was added to the new Callahan's, and I'm so glad I did! The lady at the counter was incredibly friendly and kind, and the food was amazing. My only suggestion would be to increase the portion of mac and cheese in the BBQ mac bowls. The amount of meat was perfect, but I think a little more mac and cheese would make the meal feel more substantial. I don't believe adding a bit more would significantly increase the cost, especially since the brisket portion is already well-sized. Regardless, the food was exceptionally well-made.
Definitely coming back. Great food terrific service clean friendly atmosphere. The picture is all that was left of the Mac and cheese and brisket dinner and we are still picking at it while writing this review. I guess no leftovers Please come visit this wonderful establishment
A friend of mine brought me here after we visited down the street on business. Today being there last day inside the coffee shop we were greeted by the cousin of the owner. They are moving down the street as they have grown. Upon entry this is off to the side of the coffee shop and nicely organized. A simple menu with lots of offerings. We opted for the spicy chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese upgrade from chips and the long horn sandwich with cheesy potatoes instead of chips. We quickly received our items and began to eat. OMG. Cheesy potatoes and Mac and cheese were excellant. A slight pepper kick so you know it's there. But not overpowering. The cheese in each side was very tasty and not pasty like others can be. The cheesy potatoes will had the original shredded potato structure and didn't just become mush the Mac and cheese still had good pasta consistency and not mush. The long horn was excellant. The right amount of bar b que sauce. The right amount of garlic mayo and surprisingly. The crunchy onion works very well. The spicy chicken sandwich must have been good. Because my buddy ate it in two bites while wiping the bottom of the cardboard serving tray with some bun to get more of that spicy sauce. He loved it. ONE sad thing about the entire experience is that I didn't order two sandwiches and eat them both. That's how good these were ! It was gone and you wanted MORE ! ! ! I wish them the best when they move to their new location. ! I will return soon when back in Brooklyn ! Great job. Very nice woman working. And great food guys !
We found this place by accident and so glad we did. The BBQ is DELICIOUS. I lived in Ft. Worth, Texas for the last 36 years and PB&J's is on par with some of the top BBQ places in Texas one being a very popular one in The Stockyards in Ft. Worth. We ordered a large variety of meats and sides and they were all amazing and huge portions. I will be back, alot and I am recommending to everyone I know. The staff today, 9.5.25 was incredible and very pleasant. Thank you for a great bbq experience.
I very nice and cozy place to enjoy quality bbq. I wish I could have dined in today and enjoyed the seating. The food here is delicious! I ordered the platter with brisket, pulled pork, mac n cheese, and cheesy potatoes. The brisket: super tender and delicious seasoning rub. Pulled pork: juicy and delicious as well. Mac n cheese: This wasn't as salty as most places serve and it was surprisingly refreshing! Well seasoned and coated with cheese. Cheesy podatoes: Cheesy hash browns with an unique flavor to them. I think these were my second favorite item on my plate after the brisket. Friendly staff+quick service+cozy environment=I will be back again!
Food was amazing , my boyfriend’s favorite place that we ate in Jackson! He got the ribs which he said were amazing and he’s a big ribs guy! The macaroni and cheese is also to die for !! I tried the burnt ends and they were great!! Hands down would visit again!!!
Long story short, grew up in Virginia with Carolina style BBQ…. Moved here in May of 2024 from Houston after 6 years of being in Texas. After growing up with Carolina style BBQ and experiencing the Texas’s BBQ scene… I can truthfully say this is the best BBQ in lower Michigan. I have tried multiple top ranked BBQ spots in lower Michigan. The pork ribs at PB&J you might as well eat with a fork because it will not stay on the bone! Some people take it for granted but moving from a place that has diverse and amazing food choices, to a place like Brooklyn where people get excited about a Taco Bell being built….This BBQ spot is truly a gift and enjoy it as much as possible please. Sorry if I offended anyone with the Taco Bell comment but it’s true. This pure competition BBQ with a discount.
Damn. I found this place by accident because I got hungry while drinking coffee and using the wi-fi in the coffee shop they share a building with. They had BBQ nachos on special that and it was exactly what I needed. Nachos were made on Doritos (this should be the only way to make nachos) and had good size portion of very tasty pulled pork. Fair prices, great staff and a nice comfortable place to sit and enjoy your food. I will definitely be coming back here every time I'm in the area.

Nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, Michigan, PB&J's BBQ offers a smoky escape that feels both genuine and inviting. This cozy spot, located just off the main street, has quickly become a favorite for barbecue lovers who crave authentic, well-crafted Southern flavors without leaving the Midwest. The warmth of the staff matches the warmth of the food, creating an experience that’s as comforting as the dishes themselves.
What stands out immediately is the quality and balance in every bite. The brisket arrives tender, seasoned with a rub that enhances rather than overwhelms, allowing the natural flavors of the meat to shine. Pulled pork follows suit — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. What elevates PB&J's BBQ above many others is the care given to the sides. The mac and cheese is a revelation: creamy but not pasty, with a balanced saltiness that refreshes the palate. The cheesy potatoes, with their shredded potato texture and subtle pepper kick, offer a satisfying contrast in both flavor and mouthfeel. These sides speak to precision in preparation and a respect for classic comfort food standards.
The sandwiches here, particularly the spicy chicken and Long Horn, show a masterful layering of flavors. The spicy chicken sandwich packs just enough heat to excite without dominating, complemented by a crispy bun and zingy sauce that makes it impossible to pause mid-bite. The Long Horn sandwich nails the savory equation with barbecue sauce, garlic mayo, and crunchy onions, delivering a complex, lingering taste that invites a second round.
Portion sizes are generous, yet balanced. While one customer suggested a slight increase for the mac and cheese in the BBQ mac bowls, it’s clear the focus remains on crafting a cohesive, satisfying meal where no ingredient feels superfluous. The atmosphere—the friendly greetings and organized setup beside a neighboring coffee shop—adds to the sense that this is a local gem. The recent buzz about their move down the street marks evolution without losing the heart of what makes PB&J’s BBQ special.
Overall, PB&J's BBQ captures the spirit of Southern barbecue with a Midwest warmth. It’s a place where quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and genuine hospitality converge. For anyone seeking barbecue that hits the right notes—tender meat, comforting sides, and bold yet balanced flavors—PB&J’s BBQ is a must-visit stop in Brooklyn, MI.
